KCSIE 2024 main updates
- Where children see, hear, or experience the effects of domestic violence, this is considered abuse.
- Where “abuse and neglect” was referenced, this has been changed to “abuse, neglect and exploitation”.
- Attendance is now referenced as “unexplainable and/or persistent absences” – ie much broader.
- There will be further updates to “Prevent” and also ” children who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or questioning their gender”
True/False?
Whilst very important, attendance isn’t a safeguarding issue.
(false, poor or irregular attendance could be a safeguarding issue!)
