World Book Day
We had a fantastic day on Thursday, celebrating the world of books. We started with parents joining children in school for our Bookie Breakfast. A fantastic atmosphere! The children made a fantastic effort with their costumes – very creative. Many classes enjoyed a snippet of a Matilda performance written by our very own Mrs Chapman and Mrs Bridle. Our pupils ‘dressed a door’ as a book, too – see our website. Other activities included writing a postcard to Mr Applegate about how their favourite book character demonstrates one our of school values or learning behaviours. A busy – but fantastic – day :)
World Book Day Update!
Tomorrow is World Book Day and we are super excited!
Just a quick note about the Big Booky Breakfast – 8.30-9.00…
Your child must go straight to their own classroom to register and order their lunch with their class teacher and you are invited to stay with them to share breakfast and some books together.
If you have more than one child and would like to read with them all together, they must still register with their own class teachers and they will need to take a breakfast item from their own classroom. You can then use one of the classrooms to read together.
If the fire alarm goes off during breakfast, the children need to go and line up on the playground in their usual places to be registered by their class teacher.
Remember, books aren’t just for bedtime!
