The topic web gives you an insight into what we will be covering in each subject this half term.
*NEW* This half term, we are reintroducing homework to the Year 5 children to support them with their transition to Year 6. Please see more information about this on the topic web attached too.

Spring term learning in Year R: People Who Help Us
We hope that you have all had a wonderful Christmas and that the children enjoyed the festivities! We are looking forward to hearing about their Christmas presents and the fun they had during the holidays.
We will start the term with an RE focus learning about ‘Jesus as a storyteller’. We will then begin our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic next week and this will continue throughout the rest of this Half Term. We have some visits lined up from the fire service and police and we hope that the children enjoy these visits and it fills them with enthusiasm for their learning!
Please click here to read the newsletter for this term which briefly outlines our learning.
As always, you can find more information about what we have been learning each day on Tapestry in our ‘Walk and Talk’ post.

Year 1 get creative!
This term, Year 1 have loved being polar explorers and learning about the North and South Poles. The children have enjoyed finding out about the different animals there and what it would be like to live in the polar lands. As part of our art project this half term, we learnt about the Inuit artist Kenojuak Askevak. The children used her artwork to help inspire them when creating their own clay tile.
They also explored other ways of manipulating clay and plasticine and created some amazing animal and Christmas inspired mini sculptures.
The children performed wonderfully in their Christmas play this term and they loved showing you all their enthusiasm with their singing. Thank you everyone for coming along and supporting them.
The Year 1 Team would like to wish you and your families a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Year 3’s Passport to Christmas Trip
We had a super end to the term with a trip to St Mark’s Church, Kempshott. We were so proud of the children as they sensibly walked from school to the church and behaved so beautifully. Whilst at the church the children took part in ‘The Christmas Journey’ and learnt so much, they loved meeting the characters from the Nativity story. They had a fantastic morning and used their knowledge and learning when completing our RE lessons later in the week.
May we take this opportunity to say thank you for your on-going support this term. Please could we ask over the Christmas holiday’s if you get any new shoes that you collect the boxes for Year 3’s art project next term.
Merry Christmas from the Year 3 Team!
