Click here to find out more. Also check out the parents menu on our website, which has lots of information about mental health.

Great opportunity for learning about E-Safety – Thurs 13th Feb

Our children live in the Internet Age. They love to use technology and play the latest games. However, it is not always easy for parents and carers to understand what they are doing and how we can help to do the right things to keep them out of danger.

On Thursday 13th February, we will be having a special Internet Safety Day. The children will learn about going on line and how to keep safe. During the evening of this day, we would like to invite all parents to a special parents ‘drop in’ session with a guest speaker, Paul Hay, who is a specialist in Internet Safety. He will be available to answer questions you may have on an individual basis, explain how some apps/programs work and support you with how to keep your children safe online. This is from 4pm-6:30pm.

Above all, it will give you, as parents and carers, the confidence to help your child get the most benefit and enjoyment from the internet while keeping safe

Year 6 Booster Groups

Please note that due to Parent’s Evening, all Year 6 Booster Groups will be cancelled week commencing 10th February.

However, Mr Applegate’s booster groups will continue as usual.

Zones of Regulation

Your child may have been talking about feeling ‘red’ or ‘yellow’. What does this mean? Well, St Mark’s are adopting a really helpful way for children to identify and talk about their emotional state- even when they are angry or anxious! Identifying the colour helps  children to know how to move towards a more settled state, which may not always been straight to green. It also enables them to know ‘it’s ok to feel this way’, although we are still responsible for our actions. Why not talk through it with your child?
