A note from Mr Applegate

An incredible week of Wellbeing, topped off with Sports Day! Thank you everyone for your input, and for Mrs Ford, Mrs Boyle, Mrs Silvester for your planning and effort. Enjoy the photos!

Thank you SO much for our Wellbeing Week helpers!

  • Our incredible Wellbeing Champions – launching the week in Worship, greeting families on the gate, leading mindfulness puzzle events every lunch time and running our Mindfulness Market.
  • St Mark’s Heroes who came to bake with different year groups throughout the week – Claire T, Heather C, Michelle D, Slyvia and Claudia
  • Beechdown Sports Club – Tanya Perkins and Mel Trump – led sessions with years 4 & 6
  • Kath from Relax Kids – led relaxation sessions with years 3 & 5
  • Luna from Perform-for-schools – led sessions for years R, 1 & 2
  • Sian Storey – Lion Mural which incorporates all elements of our whole school ethos using stencils that have been designed by the children.  Each class had a strand from our ethos.

Our target over the year is 97%. Last year’s attendance was 95.8% – above national levels, but we’d like it to be much higher.

Our current attendance percentage is 96.0%. Oh no :(

Music of the Week

Appalacian Spring by Copland: Allegro

Appalachian Spring is a ballet and orchestral work by the American composer Aaron Copland. It tells the story of a young pioneer husband and his bride beginning a life together on the American frontier. Copland wrote it in 1944 during the Modern era.
