Autumn 2 Art Project – Nativity Figures

Our art project this half term focused on the skills needed to create a simple sculpture.  The bottles we collected at the the beginning of the half term gave us a structural form on which to build.  Using balls of paper and masking tape the children constructed figures to represent the characters from the Nativity.  Our objective was to create a smooth surface using paper and paste and all the children achieved this.  Finishing touches were added with a range of fabrics, all dipped in paste and then moulded around the figures.  It has been a successful project and we hope you enjoy displaying the models at home during this festive season.
