Year 1 become Polar Explorers!

Year 1 have started this term brilliantly. They loved becoming Polar Explorers on our hook day yesterday. Thank you for all the fantastic outfits you sent your children to school in. During the day, the children learnt about the book ‘Poles Apart’ and created their own pictures based on the book. They enjoyed exploring the outdoors where they went on an animal hunt looking for the animals found in the North and South Poles. The children created some beautiful artwork of a polar bear and loved making penguins using paper. It was a fantastic day and the children all had a wonderful day exploring their new learning.

This term the children will continue to learn about the Arctic and Antarctic, finding out about the different animals there and what life would be like if we lived there. Please see the attached knowledge organiser and information to explain more about what your child will be learning this term.
