Year 5 – Tuesday 28th April
Good Morning Year 5
We hope you enjoyed seeing our message to you yesterday and you enjoyed your day. Did you manage to go out in the cloudier weather or did you make the most of being indoors?
You are all doing so brilliantly and we are amazed with all of the work we are getting sent in!
We were sent this excellent picture from Oliver which he took last Thursday when clapping for carers. If you take part in this, keep a look out and see if you can spot the light this Thursday!
New Resource Alert!

Helpful Reminders
Don’t forget you can email us on year5@stmarksce.org.uk. We would love to hear from you if you have a question, need a password, need some help, want to show us your work or even just say hello! Please get your grown up’s permission before you email us. We look forward to hearing from you. We may not reply the same day!
Presentation – Please remember to do your very best work. Handwriting and presentation are as important at home as they are in school. You can complete your work in a book or if you need lined or squared paper you can get it here.
Note for parents: Hopefully your children will enjoy working through these activities and can do independently. We completely understand it may be difficult to complete all these tasks due to other family commitments or you are working from home, so please do not worry; complete what you can with your child.
Marvellous Maths
Today we will be starting the summer term units of work. To begin with we will be working on adding decimals within 1. There is a video on the website to support you whilst working through the worksheet – to watch click here. We are working on Summer term – Week 1 (w/c 20th April) lesson 1 – adding decimals within 1. Remember you don’t need to print it, you can just write it down on a piece of paper, just try your best with what you have around you!
Below will be the answers for the White Rose worksheet and the challenges we have created for you.
Excellent English
For English today we are again looking at poems in ‘The Lost Words’. We would just like you to enjoy some of the poems from the book and think about which your favourite might be!
Spectacular Science
As our science this term is all about living things, plants and animals, today we would like you to explore variation in animals. To start with, there is a PowerPoint to look through. After you have looked through the PowerPoint try and hunt for some animals, whether outside or virtually and categorise them using the PowerPoint for help!
