Book Fair!

In the coming weeks, we have our school book fair. It’s a chance for children to become excited about books and enjoy reading. There are a variety of books on sale, and the school gets commission for each book.

For Year R and Year 1, the book fair is after school in the Key Stage 1 playground – please can parents/carers attend with your child.

If your child wishes to buy a book, they will need to bring in their money in a named envelope on the day of their class visit. Books start at £2.99 so we suggest between £3 and £10.

Alternatively, you may order one of the books from this flyer by clicking here.  This must be done by 1pm on 15th November. These will be paid for online but will be delivered directly to the school and brought to your child’s class after Wednesday 16th November. 
 

When is my child visiting the book fair?

Wednesday 10th November

  • 4T and 6S – during the  school day
  • Year R – afterschool in the Key Stage 1 playground with parents

Thursday 11th November

  • 2R, 2B, 3SB, 5SP, 6C, 6B – during the school day

  • Year 1 – afterschool in the Key Stage 1 playground with parents

Monday 15th November

  • 2BT, 3C, 3T, 4PG, 4H, 5F, 5P – during the school day

Globe Trotting Around North America!

This half term, our learning takes a geographical turn as we begin learning about North America. It is such a diverse continent and the children will be learning about all of the differences within it. Attached below are our Knowledge Organiser and our Topic Web. The Knowledge Organiser gives you an overview into the new topic and some of the keys facts related to our Geography and Science learning. We would love the children to try and learn some of these facts off by heart. Our Topic Web gives you an insight into what we are learning about in each curriculum subject this half term. Read all about our exciting English learning (and the Highwayman came riding… riding…), our next Mathematical concepts, the awesome experiments we have coming up in Science and all of our other upcoming learning too.

Basingstoke Foodbank

Terrific Tales!

We hope the children all enjoyed a fun Half Term break. After such a fabulous start at school they deserved a well earned rest! 

They have all come back very happily and we are already getting stuck into our first week of learning focussing on Autumn, Diwali and Bonfire night. Thank you for supporting your child over the Half Term by taking them to collect Autumnal objects; they so enjoyed showing their collections to friends in their class. We were so lucky with the weather on Monday as we went on our Autumn walk and it was the perfect start to the term!
