Home Learning in Year 1 from 6th Jan

Thank you for your support and patience as we set up home learning for the children. All the work for the children will be on Google Classrooms in their own classroom. We will put the work on Google Classroom the night before to allow you time to be organised. We appreciate how busy everyone is, so hopefully this will help. Please do email year1@stmarksce.org.uk if you have any questions. There will be a variety of class meets which would be great if your child can attend, but we understand if work commitments do not allow this. The Google meet links will appear just before each session in the stream. We will be taking a register in the first session each day. 

 

This will be the plan in Year 1 for live learning with your child’s class teacher from tomorrow. As you can see the timetable builds up as we become used to live teaching! 

 

Wednesday 6th Jan	9.05am: Google meet in your class for welcome and Maths input.
Thursday 7th Jan	9.05am: Google meet in your class for welcome and Maths input.		1pm: Google meet in your class for phonics session and topic input.
Friday 8th Jan	9.05am: Google meet in your class for welcome and Maths input.	10.45am: Google meet in your class for English input.	1pm: Google meet in your class for phonics session and topic input.
Monday 11th Jan onwards	9.05am: Google meet in your class for welcome and Maths input.	10.45am: Google meet in your class for English input.	1pm: Google meet in your class for phonics session and topic input.

 

Each session will involve the following:

9.05am: Register, welcome and a Maths session (10-15mins), teaching key skills for that day’s Maths learning.

10.45am: English lesson (10-15mins) teaching the key skills for today’s learning.

1pm: Phonics session (10-15mins) followed by an explanation of the topic learning.

Please could your child make sure they have paper and pencil for each live teaching session. Any other resources they may need, we will post on the Google Classroom page with the lesson.

Please do your very best to ensure the work is completed as this is the children’s education currently and we need to continue working as well as we were in school. All completed work or photos should be submitted back to Google Classroom so the teachers can see. If you need any resources (e.g. paper, pencils etc.), a computer or guidance please do ask and we will do our best to accommodate. We understand that working from home, multiple children, sharing of resources, accessing remote learning etc. is not always easy so please just try your best.
