2nd Jan – Action Required – and we are open as things stand
Dear all,
It seems strange to be going back to school, in what are strange times. I trust you have a restful Christmas at least.
Key Points:
- Please can everyone complete this Key Worker and Vulnerable Child Information Request form immediately. We need to know this in case of closure (we aren’t closed though!). Please complete it even if you think it doesn’t apply!
- As of 3pm on Saturday 2nd Jan, we will be fully open from Tuesday 5th Jan. Remember Mon 4th Jan is an INSET. If the government make any announcements which change our status, we will be in touch.
If we are closed by the government:
- Home learning will mirror as much as possible what goes on in the classroom, including lessons appropriate to the age group.
- Home learning is an expectation, and registers will be taken via the Google Meets. We appreciate parents/carers have to work and there may be multiple children at home, too. Remember, we have laptops available to be used at home.
- Children who are in school will remain in their class bubbles. Teachers will be at school in order to facilitate learning for both children present in the class and those at home.
- We will only be open to vulnerable pupils and key worker children.
- There isn’t a preference/opportunity for children to come in if they, or their parent/carer, would like them to. E.g. There isn’t an option for Year R/1/6 children like there was last year. We would only be open for key worker and vulnerable children.
Reminders:
- Please keep to your allocated time slot for drop-off and pick-up
- Our safety measures are still in place, including all parents and carers wearing masks AND socially distancing.
- Use the email covid@stmarksce.org.uk if you have questions or need to report symptoms or a positive case – and to keep us updated.
- The list of symptoms has not changed. Please abide by these carefully. You’ll need to stay at home and get a test if showing symptoms. Stay at home if someone in your household is showing symptoms or has tested positive.
- If a child or parent is at home because of symptoms, please keep the siblings off too. IE the whole household needs to isolate, and the person with symptoms needs to get a test. Typically you can get others in the household tested.
- Please do err on the side of caution if your child is unwell.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Mr Applegate
