Year 5 – Thursday 9th April

Good Morning Year 5 – Happy Easter!

Good Morning Year 5!

We hope that you have enjoyed seeing Mrs Poole and Miss Fowler creating different crafts and entertaining you with jokes and riddles. Today Miss Fowler has created a video for you to enjoy.

We have really enjoyed receiving all of your cheesy Easter jokes. Here are the ones that we have received so far:

  • What happens when you pour hot water into a rabbit hole? You get hot cross bunnies!
  • How do rabbits travel? By hare-plane!
  • How many chocolate bunnies can you put into an empty Easter basket? Only one because after that, it’s not empty!
  • How does the Easter bunny stay in shape? Lots of eggs-ercise!

Remember to email us if you think of any others and send us the results of Miss Fowler’s challenge for you today at year5@stmarksce.org.uk

As it is Good Friday tomorrow and Easter Monday there will be no website post from us until Tuesday. When we do post again, we will be sharing some more suggestions of activities that you could complete over the week. Remember these are optional ideas, just some activities that you could do if you would like to.

We hope you all have a fantastic Easter!

Ongoing Daily Activities

On Monday, we posted some ideas of activities that you could complete this week. Here is a little reminder of our ideas:

  • Baking – Can you bake a cake or pancakes?
  • Design an egg – Could you draw one on paper or maybe even draw on a real one?
  • Egg and spoon race – Who wins out of your family? Let us know!
  • Make a card – Could you maybe send it to a friend or relative that you are missing?
  • Have an egg hunt – Can you write some clues to go with it?
  • Make an obstacle course – Could you add exercise challenges too to each station?
  • Research some Easter jokes – If you find some really funny ones, can you email them to us? We might pop some on our website!
  • Make an Easter game – What might the prize be?
  • Code breaker (on Monday’s post) – If you cracked the code, can you make your own?

Easter Craft Example

Miss Fowler made pancakes in the shape of an Easter bunny. She followed the instructions carefully to create her pancake art.

Can you make a pancake bunny or any other yummy creation? Send us in pictures of your delicious bakes!

As Miss Fowler said in her video, your challenge (if you would like to join in) is to identify the tune she played and create your own lyrics – linked to Easter – to the tune of a nursery rhyme.

For Example:

Twinkle Twinkle Easter bunny,

Miss Fowler thinks she’s really funny,

Easter eggs are fun to hunt,

Mrs Stone hid them out the front…

We know how creative you can be from when you created the incredible songs for the World At Large project!

We look forward to seeing all of your fabulous creations. Good Luck!

The End!
