Year 4 Wednesday 1st April
Good Morning Year 4
Hope you are all well and ready to do some learning. We loved looking at your front covers – you are continuing to amaze us with your creativity. Don’t forget to send us pictures of your amazing work when you can; it puts a smile on our faces to see how much effort you are putting into the tasks we are setting.
Today, in your topic work, you will be finding out about some unusual mythical creatures and we look forward to hearing what you have found out. We will also have a get together on TTRockstars in Ziggodome in Arena – we will try 11am this week.

Presentation – Please remember to do your very best work. Handwriting and presentation are as important at home as they are in school. You can complete your work in a book or if you need lined or squared paper you can get it here.
Note for parents: Hopefully your children will enjoy working through these activities and can do independently. We completely understand it may be difficult to complete all these tasks due to other family commitments or you are working from home, so please do not worry; complete what you can with your child.
Ongoing Daily Activities
Use your digital logins to play the following:
- TTRockstars – meet in Ziggodome at 11am
- Numbots – Play for 15 mins
- Spelling Shed – Play 2 rounds of this weeks spellings
- Reading – Read for at least 20 mins
Maths -Tenths on a place value grid
We hope you have been enjoying using the White Rose maths lessons. Today’s lesson will focus on writing decimals with ones and tenths.

English – Finish re-writing the Gruffalo
Yesterday, you re-wrote the descriptions of the Gruffalo but based these on the description of your Mythical Creature instead.
There is one more part of the book that we would like you to re-write and that is the part where the mouse meets the woodland animals and tells them where he’s meeting the Gruffalo and what he likes to eat!
You will need to watch the Youtube teaching video below which teaches you how to do this. The attached documents will help you to finish re-writing the Gruffalo. Once this part is done, it is up to you how you would like to publish your story – you can edit the story on a computer like Miss Goddard did or write it by hand in your best handwriting. It would be great to see you attach your writing to your front covers and have a finished book. You could even read this book to your siblings!
