Year 4 – Thursday 26th March
Good Morning Year 4
Well done to those of you who joined us in TTRockstars yesterday. Sorry for those of you who struggled to load TTRockstars – we will try a different time slot next week. We are planning another battle with Year 3 tomorrow so watch this space. Thank you for staying in touch with us – we love seeing and hearing about the things you are getting up to.
Today, I would like to welcome back Miss Goddard! She has safely returned from her travels and will be working with us as part of the Year 4 team. You will also see that we have invited you to help choose the next few themes. Please vote in the survey below if you can and we will plan next week’s learning to go with the most popular theme.
Miss Goddard, Miss Hardy, Mrs Happy & Mrs Tunnicliffe

Helpful Reminders
Don’t forget you can email us on year4@stmarksce.org.uk. We would love to hear from you if you have a question, need a password, need some help, want to show us your work or even just say hello! Please get your grown up’s permission before you email us. We look forward to hearing from you.
Presentation – Please remember to do your very best work. Handwriting and presentation are as important at home as they are in school. You can complete your work in a book or if you need lined or squared paper you can get it here.
Note for parents: Hopefully your children will enjoy working through these activities and can do independently. We completely understand it may be difficult to complete all these tasks due to other family commitments or you are working from home, so please do not worry; complete what you can with your child.
Maths – Rounding
Remember your rounding rules from school. Look at the digit next door to the one you are round to. 0-4 stay on the floor; 5 through 9 climb the vine! Here is a bitesize link for extra information https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zh8dmp3/articles/zpx2qty

English – Rollercoasters
Today, we would like you to think more about rollercoasters than fairground rides. Take a look at today’s English task below. If you don’t have access to a printer, you can make notes in anyway you would like to or draw a grid similar to the one on the task.
Topic – Fairground Food
One of the most important things about a fairground is being able to have something to eat You might have some popcorn, some candy floss or a toffee apple. I suspect most of you don’t have the ingredients to make these things but your challenge is to bake some biscuits which may or may not have a fairground theme! Here is a recipe you can use as basic biscuit recipe but feel free to add different flavours to it depending what you have in the cupboard.
